In particular, the annual African Circus Arts Festival attracts thousands of attendees each year. The three day festival boasts of numerous circus troops from a variety of African countries. It is organized by Ethiopia’s Fekat circus group which aims to promote performance arts and provide opportunities to artists coming from difficult background to showcase their talents. As the popularity of the circus grows, more and more visitors are attracted to the city each year, expanding the cities fast-growing food and entertainment sector.
